We are just two weeks from our 27th Annual “Singing From the Back Row” Retreat.  I hope you are registered and have your room reservation made.  The men in Pikeville have been busy preparing for our arrival.  In that Blake is now retired, he has had plenty of time to assure that the preparations are made, the rehearsal spaces are reserved, the menus are completed and our Sunday singing is well advertised.

I have heard that our registrations are down.  I do not have a number and the number truthfully is not the reason for our retreat.  Sometimes it is easy to lose sight of our real purpose.  We were formed and continue to be a spiritual retreat for men.  We do so though music, devotions, worship, fellowship and performance.  That we are still going after 26 years, proves both that there is a need for men to have an opportunity to grow in their faith and that singing is an appropriate path for such growth.  With that said, I do hope that if you have not yet registered, that you will do so, and that if you know someone who might find our retreat meaningful that you will invite them to come.

As you know, there are resources available for those who may find the cost of the weekend prohibitive.  If you find yourself in that situation, please, don’t be afraid of letting Rick know.  He will be happy to make the arrangement with the Regional Office on your behalf.  No one else will know, including me.

Rick, Michael and I look forward to seeing you again and to welcoming new members into our fold.
